Introducing Gabriel John Ebbens
Praise God! We made it to full term! Just two weeks before his due date, Gabriel John Ebbens was born on May 28th at 6:43 am weighing 6 lbs 7 oz and measuring 19 inches. Gabriel means "devoted to God" and John means "God is gracious" (we were spared the NICU this time, among the other ways we know He is gracious) as well as it being Dan's grandfather's name. His first month has been wonderful. We did have some trouble with jaundice for a bit, but that is under control now. Big broher Collin loves his new broher and often gives him tender kisses. Of course we have our moments (including wanting to leave him in Mitchell the first week :)) but things are going well. Change is hard, what can you say. And there have been lots of changes in the past several months. I was on full bed rest for 3 1/2 weeks, so Grandma came to save the day. While Collin loved someone to play with and loved having Grandma nearby, the change from mommy doing most everything with him to mommy doing nothing was quite hard...on all of us. But we made it through and I almost think it made the actual transition of a new baby a little easier (Mom was back to doing a few things at least). Gabriel is growing like crazy--much to fast for Mama's liking! As of last Tuesday he was already 8 1/2 lbs! He's getting a double chin and chunky cheeks already. Time is just flying by!
