Walk in Weeds, Please
About a week ago Dan took Collin out for Saturday morning (often this is the boy's bonding time) and when they returned I asked Collin what they had done. His reply--"See Pheasants!" :) Dan and Collin had had their first little "scouting" trip together. Dan had taken Collin for a walk in a nearby field with a pond. Dan held Collin on his shoulders as they treaded through the weeds and Collin just laughed with excitement. I thought it sounded interesting and so we all went one evening after dinner last week. Collin now frequently asks to "Walk in weeds" or "see pheasants, please"--its pretty funny. I on the other hand had no idea how TALL these weeds would be--many are taller than I am and I proved to be much more of a city-girl than I would expect myself to be--only walking right behind Dan rather than blazing my own path, complaining about thorns, even walking on the mowed section part of the time! It was really nice and refreshing to go for the walk though and be out in nature and we hope to do that a bit more before the weather turns too cold. And Collin is clearly hooked! He LOVES it!
